Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

In observance of the national holiday celebrating the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., our offices will be closed this coming Monday, January 20 and will return on Tuesday, January 21.

We will have emergency field staff available during the holiday.

Swearing-In Ceremony

Today, we welcomed to our board two new commissioners, Thomas A. Boland, Sr. and David H. Ford, both of Brunswick. They were sworn in today by Judge Debra Howes after having been chosen by Grand Jury to serve on the Joint Water & Sewer Commission for two years.

Hard Freeze Warning – January 6th to January 8th

With record low temperatures in our forecast for the next 48 hours, please be prepared to leave a tap dripping steadily with around a quarter inch stream during the night and anytime when the outside temperature is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.  Please cover any exposed outside plumbing with heavy blankets and drain any hoses or irrigation systems, if you are able.

The video below, though produced by the City of Spokane, Washington, is very appropriate in the coming weather:

Unlike the video commentary, please be aware that you or may not have a courtesy hand valve on your side of the water meter.

Two Departing Commissioners Honored for Their Service

Today, the Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water & Sewer Commission bid farewell to Commissioner Tony Sammons, who has served the JWSC since July 2005, and Commissioner George Dupuy, who has served since January 2013.
