All-Clear for Boil Water Advisory Issued for Captain’s Walk Condos on SSI on December 1, 2022

Effective immediately, as of 5:09 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022, all required microbiological testing of water samples from the area affected by the boil water advisory issued for Captain’s Walk Condos on SSI on Thursday, December 1, 2022 have passed. Results have been verified by our state-licensed technician within a certified laboratory environment.

This notification is an ALL-CLEAR and water used for drinking will no longer need to be boiled.

Though the water from this system can now be considered to meet safe drinking water standards, please discard any ice made within the last 48 hours.

Food service establishments must contact the Glynn County Environmental Health – Georgia Department of Public Health at (912) 279-2940 to be inspected prior to opening.

Intermittent Water Pressure – Sections of Mallery Street on SSI – December 1, 2022

In order to facilitate the repair of a fitting on a 10″ Transite water main,  BGJWSC staff will isolate the distribution system on Mallery Street serving all customers north Kings Way and south of Harbour Oaks Drive and adjacent streets on St. Simons Island at or about 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Water service will be intermittent or unavailable until staff has completed the repair.

Once service has been restored, a precautionary boil water advisory is not expected as procedures are being taken for a controlled shutdown of the system in accordance with state and Federal guidelines. Road Closure for Sewer Collection System Repairs – Arnold Rd on St Simons Island – Monday, November 14, 2022

Saint Simons Island: To perform sanitary sewer force main upgrades needed to increase reliability of the existing infrastructure, including replacement of 1,000 feet of 10” cast iron pipe with C-900 PVC pipe, commuters of Arnold Road will experience daily temporary lane closures between East Peachtree and Demere Road. The road closure will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14th, and last until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18th. Homeowner/business access will be maintained but all other traffic should be prepared to take another route.
