Date of Spill:<\/strong> 5\/9\/2024<\/p>\n Time:<\/strong> 4:23 PM<\/p>\n Location of Spill:<\/strong>\u00a0 Lift Station 4036\u00a01253 B&W Grade Rd \u00a0Brunswick, GA 31520<\/p>\n Cause of Spill:<\/strong> A power outage from a storm.<\/p>\n Estimated Volume of Discharge:<\/strong> Approximately 95,253 gallons<\/p>\n State Waters Discharged:\u00a0 <\/strong>Discharged into Yellow Bluff Creek, Brunswick, GA<\/p>\n Corrective Action Taken:<\/strong><\/p>\n Lift station technicians and vacuum pumping system crews worked in unison to control the flow of the lift station until power could be temporarily restored via generator. Staff placed notification signs along Yellow Bluff Creek and contacted local environmental authorities. Laboratory technicians will continue to test this area to determine if any further environmental abatement is necessary.<\/p>\n Public Notification:<\/strong><\/p>\n This notification is being provided to Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Glynn County Department of Public Health, local print media, and local radio stations for further dissemination.<\/p>\n
