{"id":9160,"date":"2018-07-28T23:20:12","date_gmt":"2018-07-29T03:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bgjwsc.org\/?p=9160"},"modified":"2018-07-28T23:20:12","modified_gmt":"2018-07-29T03:20:12","slug":"sanitary-sewer-overflow-on-bishop-lane-in-brunswick-july-28-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goldenisleslepc.org\/?p=9160","title":{"rendered":"Sanitary Sewer Overflow on Bishop Lane in Brunswick \u2013 July 28, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brunswick Glynn Joint Water &amp; Sewer Commission NPDES Permit GA0025313, in accordance with the conditions of this permit and DNR Regulation 391-3-6-05 Emergency Actions, hereby make Public Notification of a wastewater spill that was reported 7\/28\/2018 at 3:00 PM due a materials failure in the force main piping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date of Spill:<\/strong>\u00a07\/28\/2018<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time Reported:<\/strong> 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location of Spill:<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0A sanitary sewer pumping station (LS 4028) located at 100 Bishop Lane in Brunswick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause of Spill: <\/strong>\u00a0 Malfunction of a gasket on the 16 inch bypass force main.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Estimated volume of discharge:<\/strong>\u00a0 100,000 gallons<\/p>\n<p><strong>State Waters Discharged:<\/strong> Hog Crawl Creek and Hidden Lakes Drainage Lake<\/p>\n<p><strong>Corrective Action Taken: \u00a0<\/strong>JWSC personnel bypassed the section of force main with the malfunctioning gasket which let the lift station run in normal operation until repair to the gasket could be made.
